Position: Counsel – Corporate M&A
Client: International Law Firm
Location: Tokyo, Japan

Qualifications:

• Admission to practice as an attorney in Germany.
• A minimum of 7 years of post-qualified experience (PQE) in corporate M&A.
• Proven experience managing cross-border transactions, ideally between Japan and the EU.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise teams of associates and paralegals in executing M&A transactions.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Native or fluent German language proficiency.
• Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading and advising on complex corporate and M&A transactions with a cross-border focus.
• Managing and growing client relationships by delivering commercially-focused, high-quality legal advice.
• Supervising and mentoring teams of associates and paralegals to ensure efficient and effective transaction execution.
• Collaborating with international offices and teams on multi-jurisdictional matters.
