Bengoshi Associate – Healthcare/Life Sciences

A leading Japanese law firm is seeking a Bengoshi Associate (PQE 1–8) to join its top-ranked healthcare and life sciences team in Tokyo. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of impactful matters for prominent domestic and international clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handling matters in areas such as M&A, regulatory advice, compliance, personal information protection, IP litigation, or crisis management (depending on expertise).
• Providing tailored legal and regulatory counsel to clients in the healthcare and life sciences industries.
• Managing or supporting patent disputes and other IP litigation cases.
• Drafting and negotiating contracts in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Bengoshi with 1–8 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in at least one of the listed areas; IP litigation or healthcare/life sciences expertise preferred.
• Native Japanese proficiency; business-level English is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a willingness to develop further if needed.
