Job Description

Responsibilities

Support new services and features: Conduct legal reviews and analyses for compliance with Japanese laws. Review marketing materials. Advise on trademarks, copyrights, new product/program names, or intellectual property.
Contract review and dispute handling: Draft and review contracts and terms in Japanese and English. Advise on user issues, internal business matters, disputes, inquiries from government agencies, and other external communications.
Develop legal governance policies and risk management systems: Implement compliance 
Potential for reassignment to any role within the company.

Skills/Competencies

Required:

Japanese bar qualification.
Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
5-7+ years of experience in business law (contracts, corporate law, labor law, intellectual property law, competition law, personal information protection law, etc.).
Interest in new legal fields related to the business and HR Tech industry.
Ability to work flexibly and swiftly based on personal judgment.
Strong sense of ownership and proactive communication skills with stakeholders.
Broad perspective and high vision beyond just the legal domain, based on legal knowledge.
Preferred:

Experience with technology-related laws (provider liability limitation law, telecommunications business law, specific electronic mail law, etc.).
US or European bar qualification.
Experience with litigation or regulatory responses related to HR businesses or internet businesses.
Practical experience in labor cases.
People/organizational management experience.
Project leadership experience.
